Jerry von Jessen is a handsome, large-sized 5 year old AKC German Shepherd. A big plus about adopting a dog like Jerry is that he is out of his terrible teens and does not require the work and continuous supervision associated with puppies. He is confident -- sure of himself in his surroundings -- and has significant stamina and endurance. Jerry's charm is evident when he meets adults and older children, but he does not do well around toddlers. This kingly creature has a dominant personality yet he mixes well with other large or mid-size, submissive male dogs -- but fixates on very small dogs. Jerry likes to hang out with you or relax on the grass and keep watch in typical GSD fashion. If your car door is open, he will take it as an invitation to jump in and, if given his preference, will sit in the front seat and pretend to be a person so that you can use the car pool lane. Jerry is happiest when he is with people and being petted. He promises to take good care of the family that adopts him.
